AMHEC has been the lead association in setting up a number of projects and initiatives for the sector related to benchmarking and shared services initiatives. Once of the services that we are proud to say we initiated is HE Shared Legal, an excellent example of a shared service in higher education.
HE Shared Legal
Following a highly successful HEFCE funded feasibility study carried out in partnership with JISC Legal and Guild HE, AMHEC obtained HEFCE support and funding to develop a Pilot Study that subsequently became HE Shared Legal, a national shared legal service for the UK higher education sector. HE Shared Legal operates on a subscription model providing legal guidance to institutions, access to standard documents & procedures and assistance with law firm selection , engagement, instruction and monitoring.
